There is no such thing as the “perfect” employee in your business. Your current employees and new ones you take on offer a vast array of personalities and experiences. Getting the most out of them is the responsibility of the company, make them the “best they can be” to deliver against what you need and what they want.
The success of the team is through an appreciation of their differences, how they are recruited, what they do in the job and finally how they are managed. This is the only way to ensure the successful growth of the company, a true partnership journey with your employees, aligning their aspirations with your business goals.

The common theme we tend to see is after 12 or 18 months in a job or even less, the company becomes less enamoured with their employee. It is important to remember people don’t become less competent but they can become demotivated and more often than not this is the responsibility of the company as opposed to the person.
We find blame is attributed here much too quickly as opposed to understanding. In SME’s or Micro Companies we tend to take on individuals who can do the job we took them on for but we then tend to expect more of them.
