The common theme we tend to see is that after 12 or 18 months in a job or even less, the company becomes less enamoured with their employee. It is important to remember, that people don’t become less competent, but they can become demotivated, and often this is the responsibility of the company as opposed to the person.

We find blame is attributed here too quickly, as opposed to understanding. In SMEs or Micro Companies, we tend to take on individuals who can do the job we took them on for, but we then tend to expect more of them, or not appreciate their evolution and what they now require to feel valued and motivated.
